(Season 2 Episode 2)
Definitely an episode where what seemed like a small topic led to an entertaining relationship discussion in the Feedback and Follow-Up segment of the show. But before that in Top of Mind, WIM took us through Shaun King’s “Has Oprah Been Living Under a Rock” article, which included rebuttals/evidence for anyone saying leadership and concrete action hasn’t emerged from the nationwide movements regarding the loss of black male life at the guns of police. We also briefly talked about media coverage of the terrorist attacks in France and Nigeria, revisited journaling, and alluded to some upcoming changes for the show. In Hot Topics, we talked about the how the show “Empire” came about and the underwhelming pilot episode (Only Rich witnessed it), and the Black on Black Racism article that ran on The Atlantic.
In The Hustle, Rich recommended War of Art and shared a couple things he liked about the book that’ll be relevant for those seeking inspiration. He also talked about a new software allowing employers to track when you’re looking for a job (thanks for the link Sandra!). WIM briefly covered the college loan bubble and shared some money making tips before setting the tone for next episode’s WIM RANT on Blue Valentine.
